Home Key Fact Sheets Chiminea
Key Facts - Chiminea Chiminea (also known as Bushman Burners) are used to heat your garden when it is too cold to sit outside without additional heating. A chiminea differs from a patio heater, in that a patio heater is powered by gas in bottles or occasionally electricity, whereas a chiminea is powered by burning fuel - usually logs, although you can buy specially made chiminea fuel. Chiminea can be made out of different materials including terracotta, cast iron, aluminium, different types of clay and also brick, and many can be used to cook anything from barbecue food to pizzas, although it would be best to use proprietary barbecue fuel if you are going to use your chiminea for cooking.
Chiminea are generally weatherproof and can be left outside all year round. My preference is for a cast iron chiminea, because they are sturdy and iron is a great conductor of heat.
